  • Michael Jordan's Birth

    Michael Jordan's Birth
Michael Jordan was born on February 17th in Brooklyn, New York. His father was a general electric plant supervisor and his mom was a banker and when Jordan was very young his family and him all moved to North Carolina.
  • North Carolina University

    North Carolina University
Jordan's college career started when he got recruited by UNC's head basketball coach Dean Smith. Jordan accepted a full basketball scholarship to play for the Tar Heels. Jordan ended up starting for the team, but the spotlight was on James Worthy and Sam Perkins (Michael Jordan's College Career). Eventually Jordan got the spot light when he got selected as college player of the year in 1983-1984. And then two seasons later Jordan decided to leave the team his junior year and play in the NBA.
  • Joining the Chicago Bulls

    Joining the Chicago Bulls
In the 1984 NBA draft Jordan was the 3rd pick and the Bulls picked him. Jordan even got one of the biggest contracts for a rookie at the time. But that almost didn't happen and Jordan almost went to another team. The team Jordan would be put on would be decided from a coin toss from the Rockets. In the end "the Bulls lost their Sikma deal from the toss and instead got a chance to pick up Jordan" (The 1984 NBA Draft: Drafting Jordan - Not a Done Deal). Jack Sikma was an All-star from Illinois.
  • Retirement

    Retirement
Michael Jordan ended up retiring from basketball after a hard time in his life and after his 3rd championship win. Nobody was ready for it, but Jordan felt it was the right decision. Jordan said he "didn't have the desire to play the game anymore" (Michael Jordan). But most people said it was because of his father's murder about a year before. Jordan was very close with his father so losing him really hurt him emotionally and physically. That's why he didn't feel like playing the game anymore.
  • Comeback

    Comeback
After a while Jordan felt he retired way to early and was ready to play again. Jordan came back to play for the Bulls even though he had other contracts offered to him. Jordan had not played in like a year, but he played very well and even won his team another championship. Overall after Jordan came back to the Bulls he won 3 more championships before retiring again. But Jordan would comeback one more time to play for the Wizards even though he didn't win anymore championships (Osama Mohamed).
  • 6th and Last NBA Championship Win

6th and Last NBA Championship Win
After Jordan came back to play for the Bulls he won 3 more NBA championships. But his last championship game was one of the hardest to complete. Jordan ended up winning the game with a shot he made at 6.6 seconds left (Infrared). Even though Jordan won the game it was one of the hardest games to get through because that was one of his last career games in his life. After the game everybody knew they would be losing one of the greatest basketball players ever and it would be difficult to move on.
