    The rebels begin the movement, they win battles under Hidalgo and others. Mexico City stops them from winning and were captured.

    Early 1810´s
    A "literary club" made by Miguel Hidalgo and other group of creoles talk about plans to overthrow the Spaiard Government and establish a new one. Ignacio Allende, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez and others were the Creoles who beside Hidalgo, faught for the lives of the peasants and slaves. The attack began in Dec, 8 1810. The Spaniards didnt expect the attack.

    Grito de Dolores, Guanajuato
    2AM, Hidalgo begins the movement of the Grito. He rings the bells of the church to gather Indians and mestizos. He had a Virgen de Guadalupe as a symbol for religion and no racism by skin color.

    Hidalgo arrives to Guanajuato where the SPaniards are hidden in the Alhondriga de Granaditas. Spaniards were led by Juan ANtonio de Riano. Juan Jose Martinez, better known as "EL Pipila" burned down the door and the war began.

    Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, and Valladolid were conquered by Hidalgo and his army in the way to the Capital. With his army and a 40 % off, he was scared to fight against the Capital. He retreat and went back. Allende wasn´t in his favor.

    The Conspiration of Queretaro is Discovered
    The Conspiration was discovered whennPostal clerk, Marino Garza, gave the government some information about the conspiracy. He pointed out that in Epigemios Gzz. house in Queretaro something went wrong. Finally, the government discovered that it did; Epigemio was making a cosnpiracy. With the help of Ignacio Perez, Josefa Ortiz gives the famous "three taconazos" that alert Ignacio Perez. This was a signal for him to go and tell Ignacio Allende, Juan Aldama and Miguel Hidalgo to Independicise.

    Guadalajara of Feliz Calleja
    General Felix Calleja attacks with royalists troops fight against Hidalgo in Guadalajara. There´s an explosion during the battle that back-ups Miguel and Allende. They move north to look for new terretory.

    After being captured near Texas, rebels walked to Chihuahua were they were executed. Miguel Hidalgo was trailed by the Holy Office of Inquisition and was found guilty of treason and heresy. At dawn on July 31, 1811, he was executed

    Morelos takes power, he trains a small army and promulgates the Constitution. He was captured for treason and executed.

    Morelos takes power over Chilpancingo´s Congress
    Jose Maria Morelas y Pavon, a mestizo priest, took leadership after Hidalgo´s death. Morelos trained a small army which he was going to use in the war against Mexico City. He declared independence in Chilpancingo and began his movement.

    Morelos is Captured and Executed in Constitution of Apatzingan
    Calleja captures Valladolid, Oaxaca, Cuernavaca, Cuatla, Taxco, and Chilpancingo. In Apatzingan, where the constitution promulgate, Morelas was captured. He was escorted to Mexico City, tried for treason, and executed like Hidalgo.

    Resistence

    Guadalupe Victoria and Vicente Guerrero had small guerrillas in Oaxaca after Morelos death. The royalist troops began to get demoralized. In 1819, Viceroy Juan Ruiz de Apodaca offered an indulto to whoever laid down arms.

    Consumation

    Iturbide makes the Plan de Iguala and a Viceroy sent by Spain agrees it and indentifies Mexican Independence. This was the End of the Mexican Independence War.

    Plan de Iguala
    Iturbide and Guerrero meet for several times to peace and not war. During this meetings, they come up with Plan de Iguala which says that Mexico would be a constitutional monarchy, the Roman Catholic Religion would be given a spiritual monopoly, and creoles and peninsulares wouldbe equal. Tres Garantias army will be under Iturbides control.
  • End of War for independence

    After the fall of Guanajuato, Puebla, Durango, Oaxaca, Queretaro, and Zacatecas, Viceroy Apodaca tendered his resignation. Viceroy O´Donojou accepts the Plan de Iguala in the Treaty of Cordoba and recognizes the Mexican Independence. Iturbides Plan marked the end of an eleven year battle.
