    Michael Allen Madden, also known as Mickey Madden (born May 13, 1979) is an American musician, who is best known for being the bassist in the pop rock band, Maroon 5.Madden was born in Austin, Texas. He began playing in junior high school, playing in garages along with friends Jesse Carmichael (guitar/vocals) and Adam Levine (vocals/guitar). The bands Pearl Jam and Nirvana were among their influences. In 1994, with the addition of Ryan Dusick (drums), the band Kara's Flowers was formed.

    The origin of Maroon 5 could be tracked back to 1994 when Adam Noah Levine and Jesse Royal Carmichael were still the students of Brentwood High School in Los Angeles, California. One night, they went out together with Adam's old friend, Ryan Michael Dusick. All of them came up with an idea to make music together as a pop rock band which they quickly named Kara's Flowers.

    Looking for one more member among the other schoolmates, they were finally joined by Michael Madden after he responded positively upon their request to include him in the band.

    With Adam in vocal also guitar, Ryan in drums, Jesse in guitar, and Mickey in bass,
    Kara's Flowers made their first performance on September 16, 1995.

    Unfortunately, it didn't turn out well, for the record only solds five thousand copies and was considered as a failure. Disappointed, the quartert decided to leave Reprise in 1999, turning their attention to education. Unable to resist the desire to play music again, both Adam and Jesse decided to give up their study, thus inmediatly returning to L.A where they reunited with Mickey and Ryan.

    Adam started to develop a new style in singing and songwriting. Whith this change, they decided to start all.

    OCTONE RECORDS
    After these changes, Maroon 5 signed with Octone Records and released their first album, Songs About Jane, in June 2002.

    RYAN SAIDS "GOODBYE"
    Due to exhaustion and injuries received during the concert tour, he left the band, Maroon 5, in September 2006. Currently, Matt Flynn is playing drums in his place.

    In 2011, he branched out to television as a judge/coach on the reality singing show The Voice. In 2012, Maroon 5 returned to the charts with its fourth studio album, Overexposed, featuring hits like "One More Night" and "Payphone." In 2013, Levine entered his fourth season on The Voice.
