Timeline

  • Discovery of Cu/CNS Structure

Dr. Adam J. Rondinone at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee create the structure as an electrochemical catalyst for CO2 reduction to ethanol.
  • Discovery of Nanographene-Re Leaf

Dr. Liangshi Li at Indiana University Bloomington uses nanographene to absorb light as an energy source for Re catalysis of CO2 reduction to CO.
  • Development of Solid Leaf, Cu/CNS H2 Separation

Research at Dr. Li's lab solidifies the leaf, while research at Dr. Rondinone's lab allows H2 to be separated from the catalysis process to prevent interference.
  • Anomalous Solutions Founded

Dr. Li and Dr. Rondinone share their inventions with each other and decide to form a small company, named Anomalous Solutions.
  • Dr. Li's daughter Nanographene Born

Dr. Liang-shi Li has his first child and names her Nanographene (middle name Rhenium) Li-f! (The F is for female)
  • 6 Km Peninsula Established

Chemical companies BASF and DOW decide to enter the market against Anomalous Solutions, engineering more efficient energy production, including nanoscale production of more efficient nuclear energy using sunlight and wind (the specifics have not been released following the closure of all nanosolarfissionwind (NSFW) plants). This new energy source invites an investment craze as the companies horizontally integrate, with a joint new plant on on Six Kilometer Peninsula in Pennsylvania.
  • NanoG-rhen Cocoons

Anomalous Solutions renames the technology as NanoG-rhen Cocoons.
  • 6 Km Peninsula Disaster

The greatest energy disaster in US history, a massive explosion of epic proportions, occurs at 6 Km Peninsula, causing public backlash against many forms of alternative energy. The US government sees no choice but to fund in NanoG-rhen Cocoons, as all other clean energy sources have been all but eliminated in the country. Basically, Anomalous’s market competition eliminated itself, and through US government support, the company sees tremendous prosperity.
  • Investment from Aladdin, Numbers, Nile, Plum

Many major global superpower companies, now using interlocking directorates to monopolize most of the modern technological advancements, invest in NanoG-rhen Cocoons. This includes Chinese firm Aladdin (Alibaba lost his cave), and Silicon Valley firms like Numbers (since Alphabet went bankrupt), Nile (Amazon got deforested), and Plum (the seeds of Apple had too much cyanide). This cuts manufacturing costs dramatically and the technology becomes more commonplace.
  • Farmer's Rebellion

Farmers’ rebellion against US government for encouraging technology that reduces demand for corn alcohol biofuel, and Bill Washington of Seattle, the closest living descendant of George, rides over in a horse with a gun, and the rebellion is miraculously halted without a single drop of blood shed.
  • Contract Killer Li(f)

Bitter that her name is utterly meaningless now that the device is called NanoG-rhen Cocoons, Nanographene Rhenium Li-f grows up to become a contract killer. Her first assignment: Donald J. Trump Jr. III the Younger
  • Mendel's Return

Mendel comes back to life and naturally selects Darwin.
