  • The Seven Years War

    The Seven Year warm was from 1756 to 1763 and involved Europe, France, Austria, Saxony Sweden and Russia against Prussia, Hanover and Great Britain. It arose out of the attempt to win back the rich province of Silesia. Great Britain and France both wanted control of North America. Although the British won and the French lost a lot of other countries were involved. The Treaty of Paris brought the war to an end
  • The Industrial Revolution

    The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing process in the period of 1760-1820. The main features involved were technological, socioeconomic and cultural. Technological meaning use of new machines and natural resources. Socioeconomic that resulted in wider distribution of wealth. Cultural meaning workers acquiring new skills with new machines. The Industrial Revolution changed society from a handcraft economy to one dominated by industry and machine.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    In 1763 the Treaty of Paris ended the seven years of war. The war was between Great Britain and France and all of their allies. In the treaty France gave up all it's territories and main land North America. This ended any foreign military threat to the British Colonies their.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act imposed on all American colonies and required them to pay a tax on every pieced of printed paper they used. The actual cost of the stamp act was relatively small, but had a huge impact. The Stamp Act was viewed as a direct attempt by England to raise money in the colonies without the approval of Colonial Legislators.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act was passed to provide quartering of the British regulars. It stated that Great Britain would house its soldiers in American barracks and public houses. Colonist did not like being told what to do and to be forced to take in redcoats. Many colonies had supplied the troops with provisions during war time, but failure to comply with the Quartering Act resulted in it expiring January 1, 1764.
  • The American Revolution

    The American Revolution also known as the American Revolutionary War and the U.S. War of Independence lasted from 1765 to 1783. Thirteen North American colonies rejected the British crown. France entered the revolution which then turned it into a international conflict. The French helped force the British to surrender effectively helping the Americas win their independence 1781. Fight did not formally end until 1783.
