    Paul Revere's Ride
    Paul Revere, an American Patriot, rides his horse through Medford, Lexington, and Concord to warn the patriots that the will be attacking from the ocean.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The British troops were sent off to take control of the gunpowder and weapons the Patriots had secretly been collecting. Due to Paul Revere's ride, the night before, the Patriots were ready for the invasion. The Patriots were able to successfully drive out all of the British; The American Revolution had begun.
  • Second Continental Congress Meets

    Second Continental Congress Meets
    After the battle of Lexinton and Concord, things took a sharp turn for the worse, for the Patriots. The redcoats were attempting to arrest Patriot leaders. The Continental Congress met again in Philadelphia to decide what they would do to counteract the redcoats. They came up with the conclusion of forming a continental army.
  • Declaration of Independence Issued

    Shortly after the Continental Congress met to write the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson, the youngest of the committee, was put in charge of drafting the document. He wrote about how god saw every person equal and how every should have the same rights.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    When Burgoyne’s army reached the Hudson river, it was packed with Patriot soldiers that easily outnumbered the British army. Even then, Burgoyne orded the attack. After loosing many troops, he surrender on October 17, 1777. This war was a turning point for the Patriots because it gave them the hope they needed.

    Innoculation is Invented
    Innoculation was a precudure invented while the patriots were dying slowly at Valley Forge that allowed the Patriots to become more resistant to Small Pox virus. The doctors would put a little of the disease into the body, so the body would learn to fight the virus.
  • French Allies With America

    The French decide to help out America by joining in on the war to help defeat the British. Even though the Americans and the French have not always gotten along, but the French are always ok with helping destroy the British.
  • Baron Von Steuben Arrives at Valley Forge

    Steuben arrives to Valley Forge to find a sickened army with no tactical training. The ex-German General has been tasked with forming and preparing a functional army that will defeat the British. “In our European armies a man who has been drilled for three months is called a recruit ; here, in two months I must have a soldier.”

    Bayonets are Introduced
    Bayonets were invented to help the Patriots win the war against Britain. Bayonets are long sword like knives that attached to the rifle to allow for short range combat as well as long range combat.
