Manuel Noriega,was born on February 11,1938.He was born in the city of Panama.He was born in a very poor family, of the Colombian extraction. -
High School
A life went on he went to a high school which was in the top ten educated school. As a reward the school gave him a scholarship to a military academy. He went to Chorrillos Military School in Lima. He went into the National Guard and stationed in Colón. -
College
As he went on in school he rose and rose up the ranks and eventually became a captain.And led many sneak attaches.The soldiers loved him and so did the general and everyone else so they promoted to lieutenant colonel. -

Then in the 1980s Manuel Noriega, murdered Hugo Spadafora,a opponent.After he was arrested they found drug money, and sales of restricted American technology and information.Then this led to conflict with the U.S. -

Then in 1983 he rose up and up again and became a rank of general.He was general of The U.S. National Guard.Also was he not the general of the National Guard he was apart of the defence team/ side. -
Running
After he was found he ran out of the country,then he canceled the Presidential election. This happened in 1989, he canceled the election because he attempted to rule. He wanted to rule the puppet government. -
Invaded
After a military coup against Noriega failed, the United States invaded Panama. He sought and was given refuge in the embassy in Panama City, where he remained for 10 days while a U.S. Army warfare team played rock music at the building. Noriega finally gave in, to the United States on January 3, 1990. -
Going Somewhere
Then he was sent to Miami, where he was arraigned on a host of criminal charges. In 1992 in a U.S. federal court, he was convicted of drug use trafficking, racketeering, and money laundering.As a result he was sent to 40 years in jail but it was then later reduced, to 17 years. -

Prison
After it was reduced to 17 years,he completed it and was released on September 9, 2007. He remained in prison, however, as he appealed his extradition to France, where in 1999 he had been tried in absentia and convicted of money laundering and other crimes.Then in 2010 he went to Supreme Court, and refused to appeal, in June.Then he went to France and spent 20 years in prison there. -
Stil live
He is still living today.At about 77 years old. But he is in prison.
