Nazi Invasion
The Nazis invaded Lipshe Poliana, Czechoslovakia. This is when my great grandmother was kicked out of her home, and everything was taken from her. Her life was changed forever. -
Hard Labor Camps
Malke was in hiding, but then was put into hard labor camps, separated from her family. -
Concentration Camps
Moved from Labor camps to Concentration camps, with her 2 parents and 12 siblings. -
Malke's Parents were killed in Aushwietz
My great grandmother was forced to watch her parents get beaten and murdered in Aushwietz in front of her eyes -
Malke was liberated from Bergen Belson
After being in hiding, then going from labor camps, to concentration camps, Malke lost both of her parents, and many of her siblings...but she lived, and was liberated. -
IMMIGRATED TO UNITED STATES
Malke came on a boat to the United States of America. The first time she really knew she was free was when she saw the statue of liberty. -
Moved to Lower east Side, New York
Lived in the lower east side for 3 months -
Moved to Brooklyn
Lived in Brooklyn Until 1951 -
Malke Married Phillip Mann

Malke and Philip had their first Child together
This Child was my Grandmother! Susan Mann. Sue was born in the Bronx. -
Malke and Phillip had their Second Child
This child only lived for 30 days, and then passed away. -
Malke moved to the Bronx in New York
Lived in the Bronx for 5 years -
Malke and Phillip had their third child

Malke Mann became a citizen
Sue (my Grandmother) said my Great Grandmother has never been more excited in her life, she remembers exactly what she was wearing. -
Malke and Phillip had their fourth child

Malke and her family moved to Queens, New York
Malke moved Queens for the rest of her adult life, she stayed her until all her children moved out, and until she had grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lived here for 45 years -

At Malke's old age she started to get Alzheimer's disease, and my family flew her out to an Old Age home in Beverlyhills so that she can have more help and \we can see her more often
