  • Unexpected Gold Medal at Rowing

    Tokyo-1964. This win was one of the most surprising wins in Canadian Olympic history. Most Canadian journalists and officials has not shown to watch the event. As rowers Hungerford and Jackson were alternates expectations were not as high. They had only begun training only weeks prior. But to everyone's surprise that they had won Canada's only gold medal in Tokyo. They were called the "Golden Rejects" and won Canada's first Summer Olympics gold medal since 1956.
  • Barcelona 1992

    Tewksbury already a silver medalist as member of Cnada's relay team while being ranked foruth in the world during competing at barcelons. WHile everyone was epxecting the american swimmer Jeff Rouse to win, Tewksbury who surpsied everyone when he swam his way to a gold. This was the first medal at the Barcelona games and the first Canadian gold medal in Swimming since LA, 1984.
  • Atlanta 1996

    Donovan Bailey wins Gold at 100 metres dash. He set a world record of 9.84 seconds in the 100 metres race. He became the second person to hold three major titles (World Champion, Olympic Champion and World Record Holder) in the 100m at the same time. Bailey definitely made Canadians proud and his gold medal win is still a memorable event in Canadian Olympic history.
