    The Great Zimbabwe

    The Great Zimbabwe is one of the most historical monuments in Africa. It was built nine hundred year ago. It was created with humongous stone structures making it a beautiful view. That make people wonder about it historical events that happen many centuries ago. The building was built during the 13th and 14th century.

    THe Bantu Tribe

    The Bantu tribes migrated from the north east between the 15th and 16th century. The migrations reason is unknown but it was not a bad thing that they migrated. The Bantu brought Many great things with them like ceramics copper iron and cattle. They also brought many plants with them to grow for crops. They were the only tribe in the area until the 1600s when the Ovambo migrated from Central Africa. The Ovambo are the largest group in southern Africa to this day.
  • The Herero tribe

    Sometime in the 18th century the Herero tribes settled in Central Namibia. The Herero came from Kaokoveld which is in the North West which is now part of northern Namibia.

    European hunters/ traders in Zimbabwe

    1830-1902
    In Zimbabwe lot of European hunters and traders and missionaries explore from the south in Africa. Cecil John Rhodes that they included him in. European travelers form Germany, Portugal and Britain. Were amazed by the African civilization. Later then after Europeans speculated the great Zimbabwe that was built by the Portuguese.

    Botswana's independence

    Botswana gained its independence on September 30 1966. Before they gained independence they were colonized by the British in 1890’s. They were known as Bechuanaland until they gained their freedom. The first president of Botswana was named Sir Seretse Khama. He was born on July 1 1921. The current president of Botswana is Ian Khama. He was born on February 27 1953. He has been the president of Botswana since 2008.
  • Mozambique's independence

    On June 25, 1975 Mozambique became independent. The first president was Samora Machel, which was in a single- party system. Since it wasn’t that long ago not much has happened in Mozambique.
  • The Namibia independence

    Namibia gained their independence on March 21, 1990. Because they took their independence a war began. The war lasted from 1966 to 1990. Before the war the Namibia were a German colony.
