    Premision from Spanish King

    Premision from Spanish King
It was 1517 we came to get permision from the spanish king to sail south and then west across the Atlantic, find a strait that will lead us to Asia. There we will fill our ships with fragrant spices, then continue on around the world. When we get back, fame and fortune will be waiting. Magellan Seemed confident that we will be succesful, I guess we will find out...

    Port of Dakar

    Port of Dakar
The journy to the coast of west Africa was diffucult. We used up many of our resources and many people got sick. Once we reached the coast we decided to stop at the port of Dakar to restock on supplies. The port was small but had many places to supply us. Everything was damp and wet. We spent the night in a small building that was falling down, some people went back to the ships others prefferd to be on land. The next day we were back on the water heading west to South America.

    The Deep Freeze

    The Deep Freeze
Its April, everything is freezing. Our water is frozen. The crew used anything to stay warm, people were getting frost bite and loosing toes and fingers. Magellan said we were almost there but people were starting to loose hope. I wasent sure I had any hope left. The ships were damp so the ropes and and sails were freezing. We wont make it very much farther at this pace, somthing has to change.

    Port of Natal

    Port of Natal
On August 30th we finally made it to the port of Natal in South America. We had almost 50 crew members die anold the way from the cold and ilness. It should not have taken us almost three years to reach South America but the ice made it diffucult. One ship decided to head back along the way with 33 crew members, we are not sure if they made it. The port of Natal was not as big as the port of Dakar in Africa but it was well known for its fruit so we bought a lot. We would stay two more weeks.

    Spice Islands

    Spice Islands
The trip across the Pacific Ocean went smoothly. We did not run out of food or water. The only thing that bothering the crew was Magellan. He had gotten stricter as our mood gotten better. I guess I cant blame him, he has to stay in control. The Spice islands were Amazing. They had everything. The locals were nice and made good trades. We decided to leave in December. when it was still warm.

    Mother of all bad Weather

    Mother of all bad Weather
The weather was horrible. Huge waves rocked the ship making it very had to sleep. The storm has lasted for 30 days now and is still blowing strong. The crew turned grumpy again and blamed Magellan. I did not blame him I think he was just doing his job. We are halfway now. I cant help but wondering if there will be a leadership change.

    Cape Town

    Cape Town
Almost 3 years stuck on a ship traveling across the Indian Ocean to Southern Africa. On the way we staged a mutiny and won, then was attacked by Pirates. Only 3 of our 4 ships got away. Magellan was on that ship. Finaly we made it to Cape town. The place was amazing, the people were not. They did't like us very much so we had to leave quickly. we only stayed there for 5 days.

    The Return Home

    The Return Home
Everyone was in a good mood because they were on thier way home. The trip back went smoothly enough. We didnt stop at any ports because we all wanted to get back. We are running low on food and water but it is only a few days away so we will have just enough. We got enough spices for every crew member to be ritch. Life will be good when we get back.
