This was very significant to the govrnment and around the country because there was a new leader of the United States of America and people were under the hands of him. Shortly, after he became the president, the attacks on 9/11 worried some people on how well of president Bush would be.

The attack at The World Trade Center killed nearly 3,000 people and 200 at the Pentagon. Many people might've felt that the government had an error in their security system and feel there could be future attacks.

This pertained to the governement because after this tragedy, governement realized that they have to be more aware of who they allow into the United States by receiving solid proof that the person coming into this coutry isn't going to harm the citizens.
