George BushThis was when George W. Bush was elected president folllowing Bill Clinton which was a very narrow election in terms of Bush winning. This was very significant to the govrnment and around the country because there was a new leader of the United States of America and people were under the hands of him. Shortly, after he became the president, the attacks on 9/11 worried some people on how well of president Bush would be. -
9/11 Terrorist attacks on World Trade Center

The attack at The World Trade Center killed nearly 3,000 people and 200 at the Pentagon. Many people might've felt that the government had an error in their security system and feel there could be future attacks. -
Joined first competetive soccer team
On this day, Leo joined Lighthouse soccer club as his first travel soccer team and scored a goal. -

Annapolis ConferenceThis was a conference held in Annapolis, Maryland about Palestinians being able to live next to Israel in peace and freedom. This was significant to the U.S. government because this whole evnt was sponsored by the U.S. and President Bush had gathered the meeting so Palestine could be free from Israel. -

ObamacareThis was a very signiificant act approved by president Obama that inceased the quality and affordability of healthcare in the United States for everyone. This very much involved the United States Government because it was Presidents Obama's idea to make healthcare more affordable for people who don't have access to it. -

Osama Bin laden captureThis event was very significant because on this day, the U.S. special forces captured the man who was behind the September 11th, 2001. This tremendously involved the government because in August 2010, the United States intercepted a phone call from one of Osama's compatriots to him, which was a breakthrough to the raid. -

This was significant because this was whrn my dad and i drove all the way to Montreal, Canada to see a Philadelphia Union game. -

This was very significant because this was my first time traveling to England and Scotland for soccer games. -

This was significant because this was when i graduated 6th grade and was moving onto middle school. -
Boston Bombing
Boston bombersThis event was very significant because this was when two brothers named Dzokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev set off two bombs at the Boston Marathon sidelines in 2013 which killed 3 people and injured 264. This pertained to the governement because after this tragedy, governement realized that they have to be more aware of who they allow into the United States by receiving solid proof that the person coming into this coutry isn't going to harm the citizens. -
Same sex marriage in the United States

This was very significcant becuase it was the day I obtained my first job as a scorekeeper for a local basletball league around me. This showed responsibilty and ability to make money. -

This was very significant because i got picked to play varsity soccer my sophomore year. -

John BoenherThis was significant because John Boehner (the main speaker in the House of Representatives) resigned from office because no one was willing to compromise on ideas and suggestions, which eventually led to threats against him. This shows that government isn't working together to solve their issuesand are retaliating against others who don't want to perform their idea. -
Pope in America
Pope FrancisOn this day, the pope visited Wasington D.C. , New York, and Philadelphia. This was significant to the government because places had to be closed off wherever the pope was by the government for security. Also the governement had to send people to guard the pope while he was in America. Lastly, the governments viewpoints on ways of life had changed from the pope's speeches.
