    Presented by Franklin Roosevelt, for the encouragement of friendly relation of the Western Hemisphere. This encouraged interaction between the United States and Latin America as equals. Ensured the security of the United States through gaining support and defense in Latin America. the importance is to have a non-hostile neighbors South of the boarders. this resulted in free international trade of oil, petroleum and other raw materials
  • Phony War

    Blitzkreg "attack" on Poland in September 1939 it lasted until April 1940, but nothing happened. There was little to no fighting in this so called "war". The great powers of Euro had declared war on each other. Neither side launched anything at one another. No lives were harmed in this This shows some wars/ battles aren't worth fighting and losing valuable items they could use to defend themselves later. There was no real use in declaring a "war" against another country if nothing happens.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese launched a surprise attack on the US Naval Base in Hawaii , Pearl Harbor. Using bombers torpedoes and small submarines. The US then decided to to join in the second Wold War. After 3,700 Americans lost their lives due to the attack for Japan and then decided enough was enough. 350 Japanese planes were apart of the brutal attack. This event is important because the surprise attack that Japan launched is what brought the United States into the second World War,isolationist no more.

    Myth of the invincibility of the German Army was broken; when they were being beaten for the first time in the war. They couldn't break through the soviets at the perimeter of the city. Hitler assumed the position of commander n' chief and started to relieve officers of duty. Soviets soon released a counter attack of planes, tanks, etc. He didn't take too kindly to giving back captured territory.
    Hitler was a major enemy to the Allied forces, and he made the German Army brutal and feared by all.

    The Declaration of the United Nations is an important document that was signed by the 28 nations at war with the Axis Powers. they all pledged the signatory governments to the maximum war effort and bound them against making separate peace deals. President Roosevelt, Prime Minister Churchill, Maxim Litvinov, and T.V. Soong, all signed this document. The complete alliance effected was in the light of the principles of the Atlantic Charter.

    China dealt with many unfair treaties that involved extraterritorial rights. To relieve themselves from the treaties came from them, not foreign powers. U.S and Britain came up with "Treaty for the Relinquishment of Extraterritorial Rights" and "Regulation for Related Matters." These treaties were signed with the British Gov. in Chunking and U.S in Washington, D.C. both U.S and Britain surrendered their privileges acquired by 'unequal treaties'
    This could be the end of a rivalry between nations.

    Nuremberg wasn't famous for war material, but was famous for producing toys and gingerbread. it was an easy bombing target associated with Germany. 514 British Lancaster bombers and 7 other planes destroyed or damaged most of the old city. that included medieval walls, historic castle, and 2 centuries old Gothic churches. The air raid attack on a civilian population, the only Allied bombing of Dresden caused more deaths of civilians.
    This tied into Hitler and war between Allied and Axis powers.
