    The leaders of the Haitian revolution were Toussaint Louverture and Jean-Jaque Dessalines. Many slaves led the revolution, since the slaves outnumbered the French. The success of the American Revolution inspired the slaves to revolt! That wasn't the only reason.... The French oppressed the Haitians. What goes around comes back around in due time.

    In the span of 13 years, the Haitian revolution came to an end. The revolution was a success! Jean-Jaque Dessaline had declared Haiti independent. Haiti was the first colony to free itself from European control.

    The leaders of the South American revolution were Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin. Venezuelans wanted freedom from the French. No one really wanted to begin a war, but Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin stood up and fought for their country.

Only because Mexico's creoles feared for their lives and privileges under Spanish control, so they united together. It was a success, seeing as most of the population worked together to fight for their privileges.

    There were no true guardians of Brazil, and quite frankly- there was no need for such guardians. The revolution was not gruesome at all. The Portuguese prince/king, King John, had escaped from Portugal and came to the colony now known as 'Brazil'. He simply wanted to make Brazil an independent colony, that did work, but he did not rule over Brazil.

    On December 9th, Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin declared independence for their country. In some ways, they were successful. Bolivar took the Spanish army by surprise and became victorious in Bogota. San Martin had declared independence for Argentina.
