    Kent state shooting
The shooting at Kent state was a shooting on campus that killed four students and wounded nine. There is now memorials to remind people about what happened that day. The students were protesting against the Vietnam war. They were then shot by Ohio national guards. Twenty nine guards shot approximately sixty seven bullets in thirteen seconds.
This event was important because without it the memorial would have never been set up.

John Filo would've never won the Pulitzer prize for taking a photo of a girl student crying over another student. This event also changed the history of this school forever. It changed the security of the school so no one would get hurt if protesting.
This event shaped the future in multiple ways. It improved the security of the school. It inspired the idea of making monuments in order to remember the students and their stories.

It also helped the students know what will happen if they protest to wildly.
If i was there when the shooting occurred i would try to save the wounded, but not the students were killed. I wouldn't save them because they were the people who died for a cause and got the monuments. They died and raised awareness. The wounded did raise awareness but not as much as them. I'm not sure if I would be able to do this, but I would try, but I would feel guilty for a while.
  • earthquake in peru

    earthquake in peru
On May 31, 1970, there was a dreaded earthquake in Peru. After this quake hit 72,000 people were killed, 50,000 were injured, and 700,000 were left homeless. It's intensity was a seven and nine tenths, which is severe. The earthquake could be felt four hundred miles away in Chiclayo.
This event is significant because many people were hurt or even killed, 700,000 were also left homeless.

The population of Peru is thirteen million that means nearly one thirteenth of Peru was affected by this earthquake. Many people were left homeless or even dead.
This event shaped the future because it helped modernize the cities it hit and even the country. The earthquake destroyed a lot of homes, forcing people to rebuild them. The older homes had to be rebuilt. The older homes were rebuilt into newer more modern homes, modern at the time anyway. Making the country also modernize.

I would like to attend that event to help rebuild all the homes that were destroyed, and help the homeless and wounded. If I was there i would show people how to build houses stronger and more sturdy. That way not this many homes would be destroyed if this happened again. Hopefully it would help many people in their time of need.
