At age 42, Jordan has her best nurse's appreciation day when her patients all sign her card with heartfelt notes of how she has changed their lives for the better. In Erikson's seventh stage of generativity versus stagnation, the crisis is between feelings of fulfillment as a person makes a lasting change in the world and feelings of aloofness as a person is detached from the community.
