    In First grade I was introduced to the Apple Macintosh computer and used it to play math practice games and the classic Oregon Trail game.

    In Fifth grade I was introduced to PowerPoint on a school computer and used it to make a presentation on electricity.
  • America Online

    In Fifth grade my family subscribed to America Online (AOL) and I accessed the internet for the first time. I used AOL primarily for email, messaging with friends, and finding fun and education online resources.
  • Nokia Cell Phone

    Nokia Cell Phone
    While I was in ninth grade, my family gave me my first cell phone. It was a Nokia brick phone and I used it exclusively for phone calls and text messages (unlike the multifunctional smart phones of today).

    During my first year of college I was introduced to the Blackboard Learning Management System through my schooling at University of Florida. This was my first exposure to an LMS system and to blended courses where many activities were completed online.

    In 2005, while still in my undergrad education at UF, I purchased my first laptop - an Apple MacBook. I used this laptop for essentially all of my computer needs including email, school homework, managing photos and music, and even making recordings of my college rock band.

    In 2011 I purchased my first smartphone, an Apple iPhone 4. Owning a smartphone for the first time felt almost like having the power of a laptop in my pocket at all times. I quickly began to use the iPhone for a myriad of tasks including personal and work email, general web surfing, video calls, taking photos, mobile games, listening to music, multimedia texts, and, of course, standard phone calls.

    In 2012 I began working at USF and started working with the Moodle learning management system for the first time. I acted as the primary front-end administrator for the system and was responsible for everything including course builds, user support, sitewide settings and permissions, and assisting with system upgrades and testing.
  • Articulate Storyline

    Articulate Storyline
    In 2014, while working as an ID at USF, I was first introduced to Articulate Storyline. My ID team had previously used Adobe Captivate, but we soon found Storyline to have cleaner and more intuitive interface while still meeting our design needs. Storyline quickly became our go-to software for creating multimedia learning modules. Storyline 360 is newest version of Storyline. Click the following link for a video overview.

  • Canvas LMS

    Canvas LMS
    In 2016, while working at USF, I was introduced to Canvas LMS as a student through taking some graduate-level courses. Compared to Blackboard and Moodle, Canvas was a breath of fresh air due to its clean design and intuitive, uncluttered interface and navigation.
