After the impressive work in Gombe Stream Dr. Lwakey arranged for jane to go tp Cambridge University where she was accepted and got a Ph.D candidate for her work in Gombe with chimpanzees -
Janes first time in Kenya
When Jane first traveled to Kenya she fell in love with Africa immediately. She met a lot of new people. She met someone important, the famous anthropologist and paleontologist Dr. Louis S.B Leakey. Dr. Louis was impressed with her knowledge and hired her as an assistant. She didn't have much, only a college degree. -
Thesis for the behavior of the free-ranging chimpanzee
Jane wrote and published her first book, "Behavior of the Free Ranging Chimpanzee"-describing her first five years at Gombe Park -
Jane Goodall Institute
In 1977, Goodall established the Jane Goodall Institute-JGI that supports the Gombe Park research, which helps to protect Chimpanzees and their habitat. It made 50 years Jane first stepped on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. She traveled 300 days a year
