    Jane Austen was born in Steventon (United Kingdom) the 16th of December, 1775. Her parents were George Austen and Cassandra Austen (whose maiden name was Leigh). She had seven siblings and she was the seventh out of them all being one of the two women among her six brothers.

    Northanger Abbey

    Jane Austen first drafted the manuscript in Steventon, possibly as early as 1794, and completed it in 1798-1799, at which time it was called Susan.

    Sense and Sensibility

    Jane Austen originally drafted Sense and Sensibility in 1795 while living in Steventon. At the time the novel was called Elinor & Marianne.
    Some speculate that it was first written as a novel-in-letters, but there is no evidence of this survives.
    Jane revised the text in Steventon in August of 1797, and again in Chawton in October of 1809.
    At the end it had been published in October of 1811 and she had to paid for it to be published
    There had been many film adaptations of it.

    Pride and Prejudice

    According to family tradition, Jane Austen began writing First Impressions, the novel we know today as Pride and Prejudice, in October 1796 at the age of 20.
    She completed it in August 1797, just 10 months later.

    Mansfield park

    She wrote this novel between February of 1811 and June of 1813, Mansfield Park was the first of her works wholly written at Chawton. It was published in May of 1814 in a run of around 1250 copies, this first edition was sold out by November of the same year.

    According to her sister's notes, Jane Austen started writing Emma the 21st of January of 1814, and finished the 29th of March of 1815. This novel was published in three volumes the 23rd of December of 1815.

    Persuasion

    Jane Austen started writing it in 1815 and finished it in 1816. Persuasion is the last novel completed by the English and it was published on 20 December 1817, along with Northanger Abbey, six months after her death, although the title page is dated 1818.

    She died in Winchester (United Kingdom) the 18th of July of 1817 at the age of 41 as a consequence of having the Addison's decease. This illness, also called adrenal insufficiency, is an uncommon illness that occurs when the body doesn't make enough of certain hormones.
    She died without ever being married or having any children.
