    The Expedition of the Thousand was an event of the Italian Risorgimento which took place in 1860. A corps of volunteers led by Giuseppe Garibaldi landed in Sicily in order to conquer the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, ruled by the Bourbons. The expedition was a success and brought Naples and Sicily into the Kingdom of Sardinia. It resulted in the last territorial conquest and the creation of the Kingdom of Italy on 17 March 1861.

They performed cat scans to see what was going on inside his body, they saw the clothes and shoes he wore, the tools and equipment he carried and the genetic anlysis of the body. Helped scientists overall better understand the species 5000 years ago.

The main shock occurred at 03:32 CEST and was rated 5.8 or 5.9 on the Richter scale and 6.3 on the moment magnitude scale. It resulted in the death of 307 people and making about 65,000 homeless. Also on October 22, 2012, six scientists and one ex-government official were convicted of multiple manslaughter for downplaying the likelihood of a major earthquake six days before it took place.
