    I was born at 10:26 am, at Abington Memorial Hospital, to my parents, Jim and Donna Bautista. I am their first child, and oldest sibling to my two younger sisters.

    In the Prersidential election of 2000, George W. Bush and Al Gore were running against each other. The election had taken five weeks to decide who had aofficially won. It first had started in Florida when it was announced that Al Gore had won the state. However, then it was announced that George W. Bush had won. Eventually after much dispute about the confusing ballots, missing names from voters rolls, and punch card ballots being vulnerable to error, the U.S. Supreme Court determined the winner

    9/11 World Trade Center Attacks
    September 11, 2001 marks a day in American History that will never be forgotten. An American Airlines plane crashed into the World Trade Center, as well as another crashing into the Pentagon, and the last plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. The attack was lead by and islamic terrorist group known as Al-Qaeda, the leader being Osama bin Laden. This attack heightened our national security in our government as well as mad eus reakize how much of a threat terrorism was/is.

    On this morning, my little sister, Abby, was born. She is the second of the three of us. This day meant that growing up I would have to set good examples and be an older sister as well as a leader.

    I started ballet and hip hop around the spring of 2003. Immediately, dance was one thing I loved to do. From there on, I continued mosty ballet up until my 9th year when i decided to stop, and continue with soccer.

    On November 18, 2003, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that same sex marriages were now legal in their state. This was the first ruling of its kind in the country by a final appellate court. This ruling led to other states allowing for same sex marriages all throughout the country.

    The first year my family and I went to Cape Cod, Massachusetts was the best one from what I can remember. It instantly became one of my favorite places that I have ever been to. Ever since, we have taken a vacation down there for a week in either late July or early August. This place is somewhere where you can sit on the beach for hours and for just one week leave behind the drama at home and be surrounded by the cool breeze and endless beaches.

    In 1993, Christopher Simmons was sentenced to the death penalty at only age 17, considering he was a minor. The Missouri court decided it was unconstitutional to execute minors. The court case eventually reached the Supreme Court, and in a 5-4 opinion it was decided that executing minors would be prohibited.

    Soccer Season
    Soccer was also something i had taken up, and continue to pursue to this day. I started playing for Hunter Soccer Club, and ever since been playing for hunter, competing in summer leagues, playing school soccer, and high school soccer. Soccer is the only sport i play and is one of my favorite things to do.

    In the summer of second grade, I moved from my house in Glenside to the one I currently live in, in Rydal. This move was something I didn't really one, but in the end it turned out to be better than ever because I made more friends than I thought I would and I receonnected with old friends once I sawn them again.

    A year after moving, my sisters and I kept begging for a dog, so we finally got one. Her name is Sophie and she is a little white maltese poodle mix.

    In 2008, Barack Obama was running against John McCain. Obama is the first African American President. He recieved 53% of the popular vote, as well as 365 electoral votes. Barack Obama becoming President signified a realization of equality and the government finally becoming equal.

    Osama Bin Laden's Death
    Osama Bin Laden had been a major figure in the terrorist community against the United States, understanding that he had lead and been apart of Al Qaeda, the group held responsible for 9/11. However on May 1 of 2011, it was announced that Bin Laden had been killed by a team os US Special Forces. This signified a feeling of safety for the national governement as well as a bit of relief and triumph knowing the one who had taken so many lives on September 11 had finally been killed.

    The morning of December 14, 2012 was a tragic day. Sandy Hook Elementary school, located in Conneticut, was attacked by a gunman who killed around 20 students as well as 6 adults. Police arrived within 3 minutes of the police broadcasting. The gunman was said to have had 3 weapons in his possession. In relation to the government, this shows that the ability to own a gun needs to have higher standards than what the gun control procedure already is.

    The morning of April 15, 2013 was like any other, until two bombs exploded around 3 pm while runners were finishing the race. Three peeople were killed along with 260 people injured. The two suspects were not connected to any terrorist groups however, did cause fear among the people living in Boston. This was taken as a sign of terrorism, which affected our law enforcement and the procedures we take before big events such as these.

    In eighth grade, I ran track as a spring sport and absolutely loved it. Running to me seemed more of a way to get a way from school and work, and just let go. The events i ran included the 4x4 and the 400m. In the 4x400, my team and I managed to set the league record which meant to us that all our hard work payed off.

    On August 9, 2014, an unarmed African American male teenager was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri. The officer behind the gun was a white male, Darron Wilson. Mr. Wilson was not indicted, and because of this, protests had started and continued to happen. This put a strain on the government because many people thought it was an act of racism rather than self defense.

    Last year was the first year of highschool, knowing all of my grades would be seen by future colleges. In preparation to high school, I knew the responsibility of completing my work and staying with soccer was a challenge, but it continued to get harder as i moved up each year. Now in my second year of highschool, I've learned to balance out my work and hopefully not procrastinate. High school is certainly teaching me responsibilities as well as to pursue the things I want and strive for success
  • Same Sex Marriage Legalized

    Same Sex Marriage Legalized
    In 2015, The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that none fo the 50 states can ban same-sex marriage. Before the case, 31 states had said that same sex marriage was no allowed while the other 19 allowed same sex couples to be married. Legalizing same sex marriage had showed that it is the same marriage and should not be viewed any differently.
  • Varsity Soccer

    Varsity Soccer
    This year will be my first full year on Varsity soccer which is an oppurtunity not everyone will get. Last year, I was injured but entered into half the season and swung ofr varsity only playing about 3 games, but this year is the year to step it up and play at a higher level.
