    Lakatos most defined contribution to the philosophy of science would be his model named "Research Programme." In his model, he tries to find the answer to the conflict between Karl Popper theory on falsificationism and Thomas Kuhn's theory of normal science where science undergoes periodic revolutions also called paradigm shifts. His model is based on having "hard core" theoretical assumptions that cannot be abandoned or altered without abandoning the programme altogether.
