  • Sedition Act

    The Sedition Act was an act that it was a crime to willfully utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of the Government of the United States. At this time it was important to the US because it didn't let no one talk bad about the government during the wartime.
  • Eugene V. Debs

    Eugene V. Debs was an American union leader he was also one of the founding members of the Industrial Workers of the World he was important in this era because he was one of the people who stood up when he disagreed with the United States going into world war one.
  • Jim Crow Laws

    The Jim crow laws was the separation of white and blacks in bathrooms, restaurants, schools and more it was important because it started to change after the Harlem renaissance.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    The Chinese Exclusion Act was a federal law prohibiting all immigration of Chinese laborers. This act is important in this era because it was the first law that restricted immigration.
  • Sinking of Lusitania

    The Lusitania was a British ocean liner en route to England from New York was torpedoed by a German U-boat this was important because it was one of the causes of world war one.
  • Zimmerman Telegram

    The Zimmerman Telegram was a secret diplomatic communication issued from the German Foreign Office that proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico before the United States entered World War I against Germany. It was important because it pushed the US into going into war with Germany and there allies.
  • 18th Amendment

    The 18th amendment was an amendment that made it illegal to sell, transport, and make alcohol it was important for this era because it was the start of the women's right issues
  • Red Scare

    The red scare was the rounding up and deportation of several hundred immigrants of radical political views the importance of this was it showed how the violation of individual rights but it also started the wake of world war one.

    The 19th amendment was the right for women to vote it was important at this time because the women had been fighting for equal rights and that started the fairness of women and men.

    The act was a United States federal law that limited the annual number of immigrants who could be admitted from any country it was important because the annual number of immigrants would be decreased

    The 20th amendment is the law act which federal government are elected offices start and end it was important at this time because it tried to eliminate lame duck presidents.

    The 21st amendment was the repeal of the 18th amendment this was important because when the 18th amendment was passed it increased crime and with it being repealed there would be less crime
