Atomic Bombs
On August 6, 1945 a B-29 bomber, "Enola Gay' dropped an atomic bomb nicknamed "Little Boy" on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. The initial blast killed 70,000 people and the radiation left by the bomb killed another 100,000. Three days later the USA dropped another nuke nicknamed "Fat Man" on the Japanese city of Nagasaki because Japan refused to surrender after the first bomb was dropped.
