    Naddod's discovery

    Naddod Was trying to sail to the Faroe Islands, but he drifted off course and landed on in island while it was snowing, which is why he named it Snæland (Snowland))

    Current Name

    When Hrafna-Flóki (The first Scandinavian to deliberatly sail to iceland) climbed a mountain in Vatnsfjörður he spotted drift ice in a fjord that inspired the name of the country, Ísland (Iceland)

    Commonwealth was formed with the establishment of the Icelandic parliment. It has Legeslative and judicial power, but no executive power.

    Norway takes control

    After many attempts, Norway finally took control of Iceland, ending a civil war between settlers.

    The Black Death finally made its way to iceland, wiping out almost half of their population.
