    Observation: Very cold, about 2 1/2 inches long, completely solid
  • Observation 2

    Ice Cube placed in cup at 10:23 a.m.
    Observation: Very cold, about 2 1/2 inches long, completely solid
  • Observation 3

    Observed Ice Cube in cup at 10:33 a.m.
    Still solid, but a little bit of condensation (water) from the piece of ice is in the cup, still cold
  • Observation 4

    Observed Ice Cube in cup at 10:53 a.m.
    Ice is still solid, but there is 1/4 in. more water in the cup. Ice is also still cold
  • Observation 5

    Cup is observed at 11:03
    Ice cube is now only 1 1/4 in. long and more condensation is in the cup
  • Observation 6

    Observed cup at 11:13 a.m.
    Ice is now melted and cup is is filled with approximately 1/2 in. of lukewarm water.

    Cup is left out from 11:13 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
    Water is warm, no other apparent changes

    Cup is placed back in freezer at 12:21 p.m.

    Cup is observed in freezer at 12:31 p.m.
    Water is a little cold, but no other apparent changes
  • Observation 10

    Cup is observed in the freezer at 12:46 p.m.-- there are pieces of ice along the bottom of the cup, with water on top (Ice & water are cold)
  • Observation 11

    Cup is observed at 1:02 p.m.-- Water has turned completely into ice. The ice is very cold.
