    The Salic Law was an ancient law code created by Clovis. It was created around 500 and contained Germanic Legal Codes. The purpose of the Germanic Legal Codes was to make sure women did not have or reach any type of power

    FRANCE, The Merovingian Dynasty

    Moors and Franks fought in war in 762. Charles Martell, general of Franks defeat the Moors. Pepin the Short was king of Franks from 751 to 768. Clovis become King of Franks and had a brutal reign.

    BYZANTINE,Nika Revolt

    Theodosius builds a wall around Constantinopole, making it the center of the new Byzantine Empire. Justinian becomes Emperor of the Byzantine Empire. A riot then ensues in Constantinopole, which threatened Justinian but he was evantually saved by his wife. The Hagia Sofia was created after these revolts

    Gregory of Tours was a famous bishop and writer that chronicled the history of the Frankish people. Since he was a bishop, he favored and excused the crimes of Franksih kings, such as Clovis in his writings.

    GERMANIC TRIBES, Beowulf

    Demon named Grendel threatens the Geats. Beowulf defeats Grendel. Grendel's mother wants vegance for her dead son. Beowulf also defeats Grendel's mom. Several years later, Beowulf is the leader of the Geats and finds out there is a dragon hiding gold. Beowulf defeats the dragon but in doing so dies himself. Beowulf sacrifices himself in order to defeat the dragon and give the Geats the dragon's riches

    The Prose Edda is a Text on Old Norse Poetics. Written by Norwegian poet Snorri Sturlson. Contains many lines of ancient norse mythology. Snorri Sturlson explains that the reason that they are so many different gods in Norse Mythology is that man has lost the name of god.
