I learnt that there are 4 different layers in the world. Core, outer core, mantle and the crust on the outside. I also learnt how volcanoes and mountains are made. -

I learnt how to take notes easily and quickly by using diagrams and short sentences. -
Natural Disasters HTWW
Today we were focusing on the tuning in part of the inquiry cycle
and we studied about new vocabulary on the subject of natural disasters. We also looked at the unit of inquiry key concepts and tried to put it in easier language. I learned that people respond to different disasters in different ways and i also learned some new vocabulary.
After this we will study about the earth's build, what causes natural disasters to happen and the effects and how people prepare and respond when they happen. -
Taking Notes (Tsunamis)
Today i learned that when you take notes all of the keywords you write should be included in the summary.
I think we did taking notes so we can look back on them and remember the information because you may need to know something in the film but if you don't write it down you might not remember it. -
Sorting Questions
Today i learned how to sort open and closed questions by seeing if the question was easy to answer or if there is only one answer.
We did it because the questions we wrote were based on our UOI which is Natural Disasters. -
Today's Research
Today Mr.Primeau gave 80 minutes to research on our questions about natural disasters. I think that i used my time wisely. I made questions with Mr.Primeau for about 20 minutes, research about my own question which was Human Preparation for about 30 minutes. I then helped my group with the writing and answering their questions. I did this for about half an hour. I think i could speed up because although i am helping my group and am still on task it feels like i am not doing any of the work. -
Todays UOI research
In todays UOI i answered 7 questions about how and why humans get prepared, and how technology helps us prepare. I answer each question clearly but i could add some details to the answer or it won't explain it properly. Tommorow i will add detail to my answers and also think about how much time we have left to finish our presentation. Because although we are almost finished researching we still need to make a powerpoint when we only have 2 more days to research and to make a presentation.
