    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    In response to the deportations, on July 28, 1942, several Jewish underground organizations created an armed self-defense unit known as the Jewish Combat Organization. While efforts to establish contact with the Polish military underground movement did not succeed, they established contact with the Home Army in October, and obtained weapons to fight back. German authorities deported or murdered around 300,000 Jews during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which lasted until September 12, 1942.

    Treblinka Revolt
    Jewish inmates organized a resistance group in Treblinka in early 1943. The prisoners feared they would be killed and the camp dismantled. During the summer, the resistance leaders decided to revolt. prisoners quietly seized weapons from the camp armory, but were discovered before they could take over the camp. Hundreds of prisoners stormed the main gate in an attempt to escape. Many were killed. More than 300 did escape though two thirds of those who escaped were eventually found and killed.

    Prisoners led by Leon Feldhendler began planning mass escape from the concentration camp, Sobibor, in the summer of 1943.The prisoners planned to kill the SS soldiers, steal their weapons and escape from the camp. On October 14th, the prisoners killed 11 SS men and around 300 prisoners were able to escape. However, most of them were captured and killed, along with those who didn't even join the revolution. There were about 50 escapees in total and after this event, the nazis destroyed Sobibor.

    Several Revolts in Auschwitz-Birkenau
    In October of 1943, a woman took an SS man's pistol and shot two SS guards. The rest of the women joined and then they were all killed. Then on May 25, a group of Hungarians escaped and hid in the woods and in ditches. They were found by SS men and killed. Also, on June 10, 1942, Polish prisoners in a work detail attempted to escape while working on a drainage ditch in Auschwitz. Very few got away. Twenty prisoners were shot by the SS. To prevent future acts of resistance 300 Poles were killed.
