The German Soldiers Search For Ellen In The Johansen's Apartment
In the middle of the night, Nazi soldiers come in trying to find the Rosens, seeing they aren't in their apartment. They go to the Johansen's to try and find something. Ellen and Annemarie try to take off Ellen's "Star of David" necklace and hide it to prove she is "not" Jewish. The soldiers were suspicios, since Ellen had brown hair, and everyone else had blonde, but they were lucky enough since Papa found pictures of Lise when she was younger and had brown hair, so they had "proof".
