  • First Host Computer

    First Host Computer
ARPANET had been created, and at UCLA the Network Measurment Center was selected to be the first node of ARPANET. BBN installed the first IMP into a computer and thus the first host computer was created.
  • The First Host-to-Host Message

    The First Host-to-Host Message
SRI was connected to ARPANET, and the first mesage was sent from Kleinrock to SRI. Following this two more nodes were added and by the end of 1969 four host computers we functioning into ARPANET, and Internet was born.
  • First Email

    First Email
The software for the email was wrote in it's basics by Ray Thomlinson. Lawrence Roberts expanded the software by creating the ability to list, read, file, forward and respond to messages. Email was th egreatest network application of over a decade, aswell as a start of the World WIde Web we see today.
  • First Large Scale Demonstration of ARPANET

Mr. Kahn organized the demonstration of ARPANET at the International Computer Communication Conference (ICCC).

    Transition from NCP to TCP/IP
The computer community had planned a big switch over that required converting all hosts simultaneously. After the transition they distrobuted buttons saying "I survived the TCP/IP transition.
