    The Aztecs first arrived in Mesoamerica around the beginning of the 13th century from northern Mexico. They were probably a nomadic tribe. After a little time, the Aztecs took over Tenoch.

    The Aztecs had a great military, this would allow the Aztecs to build a greater settlement, Azcapotzalco. In 1428, the Aztecs made a deal with the Texicans and the Cubans. This team would defeat other strong settlements.

    In Tenochtitlán 1428, lots of people were very smart. The people were artist as well, the markets kept the city running. People inside and outside were able to trade items and, and buy weapons and food from the shops.

    The people in 1428 were diverse, if you were important you would be called a noble, but if you're poor and not important at all, you would be a serfs or in extreme cases a slave. The people had Mayan culture, like human sacrifice for their god, Montezuma. They would do this for crops or fine weather or that they believed that everything was owned to their god, Montezuma. The Aztec also had a calendar, that determine time for human sacrifices, the calendar act as a 365 day, year long calendar.

    In 1440, Montezuma was in power, he acted as the Aztecs god/religion. In earlier 1500, the Aztecs were rulers over 500 small states, the Aztecs had around 5 to 6 million people on their side. In Tenochtitlán, at it’s best had 140,000 residents.

    In 1517, the first European came to Tenochtitlán. Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba came from Cuba. While adventuring around Cuba, he stopped at Yucatán for supplies. He came in with a team of 100 men on 3 ships, he went back back to Cuba to tell Diego Velasquez, the governor of cuba, his travels. Diego Velasquez, under the orders of Hernan Cortes, said to bring a large group of men to Mexico. Cortes came along for his own evil being.

    1519, Cortes stopped at land in a town of Tabasco. The natives taught the the Aztecs culture to Cortes, Cortes without permission, found the city of Veracruz on the southern east of the Mexico Coast. This is where he would train his soldiers to invade mexico to fight Montezuma.

    In November 1519, Cortes made it to Tenochtitlan with 400 men. Montezuma met Cortes without caution, since his light skin remend Montezuma of Quetzalcoatl, a god. Though the Aztecs had move numbers their weapons were worst than Cortes army. Courtes took control of Tenochtitlan.

    With help from Aztecs native rivals, Cortes took Montezuma hostage. In August 15th, 1521 the war finally concluded, it is believed 240,000 people died in Cortes victory. After the war, Cortes and his team built modern Mexico City.
