    NARC National Association for Retarded Children
    The National Association for retarded children was established in 1950. The program was gaged to support the development of those children with intellectual disabilities. In 1953 The Arc and the Association for the Aid of Crippled Children sponsored a conference on science program planning. The conference included the idea that organizations, like The Arc should be concerned with research to survey current research relevant to the causes of mental retardation.
