    The beginning of computers is nothing like what it is today. In fact, it did not even serve the same functions and may not even be considered a 'computer' by modern day definition. The 'HP 200A' was a system used to test recordings and speaker systems, which was use for theatrical purposes. Eventually, when the product was made available to the public, Walt Disney bought 8 of them and it was used in the making of the film "Fantasia" in 1940.

    Computer Calculators

    After the Hewlett-Packard 200A was created; many other computers were made following it, but for different purposes. The Complex Number Calculator was a computer made solely for calculating in 1940. Harvard Mark 1 was another computer made for calculating in 1944, eventually computers would be made to complete more broader tasks rather than just a specific one.

    The birth of personal computers
    Fast forward to 1982, the first few computers that were able to run multiple programs was released to the public. People were now able to purchase their own personal computers (PC) and use it for caluclating, saving documents, and saving pictures. However, prices were extremely high at the time and computers were not common to see in someone's home. Additionally, the internet was not created until a year after and it did not do much other than saving documents online.
