    Paul was one of the first big people to spread Christianity. Paul was an apostle and started to spread christianity throughout the Roman empire. He traveled tens of thousands of miles along the Mediterranean.

    The Great Fire of Rome

    The Great Fire of Rome was a fire that burned down 2/3 of Rome. It started in the shops of Rome and around the stadium. It lasted for 6 days until it was finally controlled. The fire was blamed on Nero because it seemed like he wanted Rome to burn, so he could rebuild Rome without the senate's approval.

    Battle of Milvian Bridge

    The battle between the Emperors Maxentius and Constantine over the tiber river. The name of the battle became so because the Milvian bridge was an important route to get over the river. Maxentius ended up drowning in the Tiber, and later decapitated while his head was marched around the street of Rome.

    Edict of Milan

    A letter signed by Roman emperors Constantine and Licinius saying that Christianity was then legal. This was a major step for Christianity because it meant they were free from prosecution from the government based on their religion. The agreement gave them a level of acceptance throughout Rome and ensured that they would be treated equal.

    Theodosius’ Reign

    Emperor Theodosius made the Edict of Thessalonica, which meant that Christianity was then the official language of Rome. This also allowed the current christians to relocate. He converted and became apart of the reason that the prosecution of Christians ended.
