French and Indian War
A war mainly against the French colonies and natives, against British colonies. The war started after disputes over the ohio river. After seven years, the British colonies emereged victorious. -
Boston Tea Party
After multiple unfair taxes, the colonist decided to protest against Britain. They waited until night time. Thats when Sam Adams anf the Sons of Liberty jumped on the boats and threw 342 crates of tea into the harbor. This in turn led to Coercive Acts, pushing both sides closer to war. -
The American Revolution
The war for the rght to be seperate from Britain. Casued by the American colonists declaring independence. Americans fought for eight years against the British. Being led by George Washington, America eventually beat Britain. SEcuring their independence for ever. -
Declaration of Independence
After many years of tension, the American colonist finally decided to act. They signed the declaration of independence officially severing any ties to Britain. THis declared them as their own country. This was the final push to start the Revolutionary war. -
Louisanna Purchase
Purchase of land by Thomas Jefferson from Napoleon Bonaparte. Bought for fifteen million dollars. Doubling the size of America. Crucial in the growth of land of the young united states. -
War of 1812
War between America and Great Britain. It started due to the impressment of American sailors andsh supplying Natives with weapons. -
Mexican and American War
After Texas won it's dependence from Mexico. They decided to become a state. After annexing with the United States, land disputes with Mexico started. One dispute led to Mexican calvary attacking United States soldiers. Pushing both countries toward war. After two years, America defeated Mexico and the land they deserved. -
California Gold Rush
After the precious metal gold was found in the state of California thousands of people flocked to mine. Not only did Americans go, but the gold also attracted many immigrants. Approximatley three hundred thousand people flocked to California. Expanding settlements along the west coast. -
American Civil War
A war between the north union and the south confederacy. After most of the southern states seceeded due to states right. Fighting began soon after the Confederacy was born. The war went from the South's favor, to the North's. Eventually leading to the Union's victory,slavery being abolished, and reconstruction to begin.
