History Holocaust

  • Reichstag Building Fire

The Reichstag building which was the seat of the German government, burnt down by the Nazis and then blamed on the communists because of a dutch communist,Van der lubbe, who was found in the bulding as it burned.Since this building was on fire it tricked the citizens to vote for the Nazis.I find this intresting because this shows how Adolf Hitler and the Nazis where voted for and how they manipulated them to destruction and world domination.
  • Hitler Becomes Führer

On 1934,German President,Paul von Hindenburg, lay close to death at his country estate in East Prussia. This gave Adolf Hitler and the Nazis sufficient opportunity to make plans to seize total power in Germany by elevating himself to the position of Führer, or absolute leader of the German nation and its people. On August 2 1934 the death of Hindenburg finally occurred.I chose this because it shows us that Hitler and the Nazis finally got full power so now they can do anything they wish.
  • The Nuremberg Race Laws

The Nuremberg race law disallowed Jews from marrying or having sexual relations with Aryans (an Aryan being a person with blond hair and blue eyes of Germanic heritage),and also to hire them for household help.I chose this because it shows us how the Jews were treated and also shows us what rules they had to follow.
  • Heinrich Himmler is appointed chief of the German Police

Heinrich Himmler was a leading member of the Nazi Party of Germany. Himmler was one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and a main architect of the Holocaust. As a member of a reserve battalion during World War I, Himmler did not see active service. Also when orders came from Hitler to exterminate the Jews Himmler.I chose this because it shows us that many important people in the Nazis were appointed to many important jobs which helped Hitler to do the things he wanted, kill all the Jews.
  • 'Eternal Jew' travelling exhibition opens in Munich.

The travelling exhibition promoted stereotypes of Jews and Nazi perceptions of their danger to the world. For example Jewish dress was a warning against racial defilement.I chose this because it shows us how the Nazis manipulated the citizens to believe what they thought.
  • Kristallnacht

A synagogue burns in Ober Ramstadt during Kristallnacht. The local fire department prevents the fire from spreading to nearby houses, but makes no attempt to stop the synagogue from burning.A massive, attack on Jews throughout the German Reich, whuich has come to be known as Kristallnach. The Night of Broken Glass, also called the November Pogrom, was a pogrom against Jews carried out by paramilitary forces and civilians throughout Nazi Germany.
  • Nazi Euthanasia

In October of 1939 amid the turmoil of the outbreak of war Hitler ordered widespread "mercy killing" of the sick and disabled.Code named "Aktion T 4," the Nazi euthanasia program to eliminate "life unworthy of life" at first focused on newborns and very young children. Midwives and doctors were required to register children up to age three who showed symptoms of mental retardation, physical deformity, or other symptoms included on a questionnaire from the Reich Health Ministry.
