  • communism

A Communism country is where the government owns things like farms. China is an example of communism. Communism was started by Karl Marx.
  • Technology of world war 2.

The Norden bomb sight was designed by Carl Norden, a dutch engineer who was educated in Switzerland, he emerged to the U.S in 1904, and worked on bomb sights at the Sperry Corporation. His device used a mechanical computer to compute the trajectory of the bombs to be dropped.
  • The U-boat war

U-boats were used in World War two and World War one. They were German submarines. 'Germany’s U-boat fleet operated out of their north German bases before the fall of France. After June 1940, they primarily used bases on the west coast of France to get to the Atlantic.' (Copied from www.historylearningsite.co.uk/world-war-two/war-in-the-atlantic/the-u-boat-war-1940/) Submarines made their mark in ww1 now twenty years later the impact of U-boats was very effective.
  • D-day

D-day refers to what happened on 6th June 1944, World War II when Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings near/in Normandy France.
  • Preidents

President Roosevelt died and Harry Truman became president of the united states. Roosevelt was president from March 4, 1933 – April 12, 1945. When he died Harry Truman became president of the united states. Roosevelt was the 32nd president making Harry Truman the 33rd. Harry Truman was president from April 12, 1945 – January 20, 1953.
  • V-E day

V-E day stands for 'victory in Europe day.' When as you would have guessed there was victory in Europe. Over what though? Over the end of the Second War on 8 May 1945. (World War.) WW2 (World war two) was six years long. Hopefully people won't have to experience what it's like to be in a world war.
  • Atomic Bombs

During World War two Atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. First Hiroshima was hit and then Nagasaki. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was called 'Little Boy' and the one dropped on Nagasaki was called 'Fat Man', They had odd names but then again the whole World War two was unfair and hard to believe with Hitler getting whatever he wanted and controlling people he didn't care about at all. The bombs were dropped on August 6th and again on the 9th.
  • VJ day

Can you guess what VJ day was? I'll give a hint, it's like victory in Europe but not in Europe. VJ day was Victory in Japan. 15 August 1945 - Japan gives in to the Allies creating Victory in Japan day.
  • Civil Rights Movement. (Part One.) By Lily Harris.

African Americans struggled to get respect for decades. Thankfully things are better than they used to be but not for everyone. Slaves happened to be mainly African Americans, people didn't think they were equal to 'whites'. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech 'I have a dream' which helped people understand better. Rosa Parks refused her seat in a bus to a 'white man' and was arrested. This started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. People heard how she was arrested and refused to ride the buses.
  • Civil Rights Movements. (Part Two) By Lily Harris.

The little rock nine was in Little Rock, Arkansas and nine African American students went to school beyond so many peoples control. A lot of people hated them being there, and even threatened their lives. They graduated which they were definitely proud of. Ruby Bridges went to a 'white school' in 1960 and she was only six years old. People did not want her there either, (This will probably remind you of Little Rock Nine a little bit) imagine how scary it would be for her to go to there.
  • Civil Rights Movements. (Part Three) By Lily Harris.

(Continued from part two) Ruby Bridges was scared to go to the school especially at the young age of six. She was brave. She is still alive to day (in 2019) and was born in 1954 and is 64 years old.
Sit-ins were where when 'African Americans' were refused service they would do the opposite of a boycott. They would stay at the place they were refused service at until it closed or until they bravely got arrested. The civil rights movement is and was a big important part of History.
