    Over the course of the years, disabled people have excluded from the mainstream education, in which has since changed allowing everyone in the school systems to have the same learning and educational opportunities as any non disabled person would have.

    Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Citizens (P.A.R.C.) V. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    PARC sued Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to introduce a law in that state that once allowed individuals in public schools to be denied their education, to be allowed the same educational opportunities as everyone else. This law was used to prevent an education to students that did not function at a 5 year old's level. This law PARC was one of the first laws around the country excluding students with mental disabilities from attending school alongside other children or in special programs as well.

    The Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA)
    This law was enacted by the US Congress that all disabled students are allowed the least restrictive environment possible. It also provides equal access education and a free meal during the school day for children with physical and mental disabilities. It was also an effort to alleviate the financial burden.
