Parc V. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Mills V. Board of Education
In 1972, these cases revolved around the state denying children rights to due process and education through the education laws. After a settlement in 1972, the state was forced to provide free public education to all children. These legal rulings have helped the children then and now because every child has the right to a fair education. -
Smith V. Robinson
This case was built around the possible discrimination against a student, Tommy Smith. The case was presented when Tommy's parents filed an appeal with the school district. The court ruling was that the Supreme Court sided with the school district because the family didn't exhaust all of its administrative options prior to bringing the case to court. -
Honig V. Doe
This case was formed around a child who was suspended for violent and disruptive behavior that was related to his disability. It was also stated that the state must provide service to students with disabilities, being that they failed to do so prior to the case. The outcome of this case was that the state must provide services directly to students with disabilities when local boards fail to make them available.
