    The Process of the Industrial Revolution started in Britain in 1760 and soon spread to the rest of the world over a few years. Although the Industrial Revolution made work a lot easier it also caused many people to lose their jobs because they had been replaced by machines. This left people living on the streets or cramped into small houses that they shared with many others.

    Captain Cook landed at Botany Bay in the afternoon on Sunday the 29 April where the british first met the Aboriginies.

    The Government Decided to Send Convicts to Australia
    At this time Britain was Kaos. Everyone was living on the streets and starving, everyone was stealing food because they couldn't afford their own food, The jails were all filled up and there was factories everywhere so the air was polluted. They also wanted to be close to Asia for multiple reasons: They wanted power and influence over Asia because of how big it was, To trade with Asia and to team up with Asia for wars because it was a big country with lots of power.

    The First Fleet Arrived at Botany Bay and saw the Indigenous people for the first time after Captain Cook.

    Once they had made their way to Sydney Cove They had hoisted the flag and officially made Australia British land and that day has now come to be Australia Day.
  • Benalong

    Govenor Phillip wanted to get to know the Aboriginal people better so he ordered his soldiers to capture 2 aboriginal people. One of them escaped but the other one didn't and he was Benalong. Benalong was dressed in real clothes that Philip wore. They became very good friends but the whole time Benalong was in chains. So the minute they took them off, he escaped and didn't come back. Phillip went back to capture him again. But one of Benalong's tribe memers members speared Phillip in the leg.
  • The return of Benalong

    After Phillip had been speared in the leg Benalong had missed him and wanted to see if he was alright, so he went back to Phillip's House to check on him. Govenor Phillip was thrilled to see his friend again but he didn't try to capture him. They built Benalong a hut next to Phillip's house and Benalong was free to come back whenever he wanted.
  • The Second Fleet Arrived

    The second fleet consisted of six ships carrying convicts and a variety of supplies that were desperately needed because the First Fleet had run out so they had to shorten food rations and were very hungry.
  • The Free Settlers Arrived

    After the Convicts had cleared the land of Australia it was ready to start becoming a real coutry so the government wanted people to come to Australia. They had to get some of the british out of Britain so they offered to pay for their fares on the trip to Australia and some land so that they can start farms and other factories. Because of the terrible conditions in England at that time,this was a big opportunity so many people agreed to this amazing offer.
