    The First Fleet's arrival
    The First Fleet's arrived at Botany Bay the 26th of January. The First Fleet left England on the 13th of May 1787. Britain sent convicts to America, but America fought for independence so Britain had to find another place, Australia.
  • Bennelong's Kidnap

    Bennelong's Kidnap
    Bennelong was An Aboriginal man who was captured by Captain Arthur Phillips. Captain Arthur Phillips hoped that he would learn the language. He learnt to speak english and came attached to the governor.
  • The First free settlers

    There were men with money and were very wealthy. Cities were getting to cramped in Britain.
  • Bennelong's Escape

    Bennelong's Escape
    In May Bennelong escaped, he hadn't been seen until September, Bennelong was seen with a group of aboriginals with one who wounded Captain Arthur Phillips with a spear. Bennelong wasn't apart of it, in fact he went to the hospital to see if Captain Phillips was all right, then became good friends. Governor built him a brick house down a hill. the place is now called Bennelong cove.
  • The third fleet arrives

    The third fleet arrives
    The third Fleet Left England on March the 27, 1791. They arrived at Sydney August, September and October, 1791. The ships all together brought around 3, 714 male and around the 24 female convicts.
  • Magnificent Buildings began to rise

    Magnificent Buildings began to rise
    Francis Greenway is a convict architect. He started designing magnificent public buildings. The buildings were built by convict stonemasons. There are a lot of building designed by Francis Greenway that are still standing today such as: Hyde Parks Barracks, St James Church and Government House.
  • Brisbane has been found

    Brisbane has been found
    Hooray, Hooray Brisbane has been found.
    The colony was established at Redcliffe point under Lieutenant Henry Miller
  • Caroline Chisholm to the rescue

    Caroline Chisholm to the rescue
    Caroline Chisholm helped female immigrants and some of their families living on the street. She Persuaded the Government to give them a shelter and then Caroline Chisholm gave them an employment
