    Wilmot Proviso
    He wanted to create a law that bans slavery in any territory acquired from mexico in the Mexican war. Many people in the government didn't want the Wilmot Proviso to become a thing. Many citizens did want the Wilmot Proviso to be a thing and they started arguing on weather it should or should not be a thing.     the fugitive slave act took place in the 1850s. this act or (law) was a law that went over the penalty that slave had to endure if they ran away and got caught again. most slaves were worked until dead if not they would be wiped. as you can tell this was a huge problem and slaves were not considered property.

If it wasn't for this book then a good amount of people could still be for slavery. Uncle Toms Cabin helped open the eyes of the people and showed them how really bad slavery was. Uncle Toms Cabin was the most popular book in the 19 hundreds.

    On October 16, 1859, John Brown led a small army of 18 men into a town called Harper's ferry, Virginia. John Browns plan was to instigate a major slave rebellion in the South.   • southern secession

    southern secession
    The southern secession was a time period when the north and south were getting made at each other soon leading to the south seceding. why you may ask, well the hole thing started over the idea of slavery. the north liked the idea of free slaves while the south wanted slaves to be slave. the south final left when Abe Lincoln came into office and said get rid of the slaves or leave and thats what happened. so the north went to war and ended up wining when the south gave up.
