This was my first day of Kindergarten! I went to a Catholic school back in Chicago. Although I do remember being somewhat nervous, I loved school right off the bat and made true friendships with people that I'm still close with to this day!
A historical event that took place during this year was students from the Columbine High School in Littleton , CO, killed twelve students, a teacher, then themselves. I remember how shaken up everyone, including myself, was about this.
  • My move to Arizona

This was probably one of the biggest transitions I've ever been through. I had to to start a new life at a completely different place. Chicago is so much diffferent from Phoenix, but I love both these cities so much and I couldn't imagine not living in Arizona now! My mother was the most signifcant person in my life at this time. The move proved how strong she is for both me and my sister.

  • New addition to the family

We decided to get our dog, Max. I know this doesn't seem like a significant event, but my dog means the world to me. He comforts me when I need him, and he's one of the most loyal beings! I couldn't imagine my life without the little guy!
  • The passing of my Grandmother

This was a low point in my life because I was extremely close to my grandmother. She was the person I went to for problems I couldn't talk to my parents about and she always was so understanding. She was and still is someone I turn to for guidance, although it may be a spiritual presense now rather than her physically being here. She passed from breast cancer, but fought it hard for nine years prior.
  • My first day of Highschool!

This was my first day of highschool and I remember how nervous I was! It was a difficult time for me because a lot of my friends moved this year so I went in there knowing basically no one. Those four years ended up being some of the best times of my life though!

Graduating highschool was difficult and exciting. My best friends ended up picking different colleges to attend so it was hard to let them go. But, it meant I was getting a fresh start and the chance to meet new, amazing people! The most signifacant people during this time for me was my friends I've made throughout the years. They are some of the most honest and caring people I've ever met and have impacted me tremendously.

The best decision of my life was entering college and persuing my dreams. Although at this point in my life I wasn't clear on what my career would be or what I would major in, I still took on a lot of responsibilities and really changed my life around. My parents expected a lot from me during this time, but they both had faith in me that I would make the right choices on my own.
