Summary
During 1930s and 1940s there were multiple events going on but my partner and I are going to be digging deeper into the Great Depression and World War 2. We each looked at a different perspective of the topic. She looked at World War 2 and I looked at the racism of the time. The war was going on with Japan and Germany and the Great Depression was threatening many Americans. -

The Great Depression lasted from 1929-1939 and affected our nation in so many ways. -

President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote a letter to J. Robert Oppenheimer the lead scientist of the Manhattan Project. The completion of the Manhattan Project is very important because it could mean an end to the war. There was a successful bomb in New Mexico and President Roosevelt is hoping for the final product that will be better than what the enemy is planning. -

Final Thoughts
Even though the Great Depression and World War 2 was a difficult time for America we pulled through and things eventually got better. We won the War and we began to come out of the Depression. Segregation didn’t end but people were able to get jobs and coming out of this hard time we became a stronger nation.
