    Joined World War 2 on September, 3rd 1939. Germany invaded Poland, which was a British ally, and caused Britain to get involved in the war. This is the most important event because this is what got Great Britain into the war and this is what started it all.

    We have the Paris Peace Treaties as number 2 on our list because these treaties and negotiations are what ended world war 2. The connection to Great Britain is that Great Britain was part of those treaties and they helped bring peace to Britain. It lasted from July to October 1946 which is roughly 5 months.

    Winston Churchill takes over
    For number 3 on our list we chose when Neville Chamberline stepped down and Winston Churchill took over as Prime Minister. This is important because it happened after Neville's awful campaign in Norway in the beginning of WW2 and it had a large effect on how effective the British military was.

    In World War 2 the chief allied powers where, Great Britain, France, Soviet Union, and the United States. Great Britain joined the Allied Powers on December 8th, 1941. The reason this is #4 is because this is when one of the 2 major sides was untied and decided to fight together.

    Germany conquered all the European allied powers combatants, except Britain, and had to face the Royal British Air Force. Britain ended up winning this battle. This is important because up until this battle Germany were relatively unmatched by the countries they attacked.

    Took place in Dunkirk France form May 26, 1940, to June 4, 1940 where the German troops trapped and surrounded the French, and British against the beaches of Dunkirk. Neither side won this battle because the Germans won tactically, but the French and British were able to escape.

    Britain's naval forces were extremely strong and arguably the strongest of any side during WW2, this is important because if not for their navy's strength they probably would've done a lot worse in the war.

    Auchinleck a British Field Marshall was one of the first to beat Rommel also known as the desert fox, he was a very skilled German General who was almost undefeated in his battles. This is important because it was a big win in Northern Africa and it boosted the British sides confidence.

    The destroyer deal was a deal where the U.S and Britain traded, where the U.S got a string of military naval bases throughout the Caribbean, and the British got 50 battleships. This deal took place on December 2, 1940.
