    9/11 was a terrorist attack that took place on September 11th, 2001. The terrorist group that had planned the attack is called Al-Qaeda. Thousands of people lost thier lives when the terrorists hijacked U.S. airplanes and crashed them into the World Trade Center. This is significant in U.S. history because it was a major terrorist attack and caused the government to make many new laws that were stricter, such as some airplane regulations. These laws were made to make the U.S. a safer place.

The United States wanted to go to war to disarm Iraq and help the people there get their freedom back. The war was significant because it lasted from 2003 to 2011. It effected the government and politics because it helped Barack Obama become president due to what he had to say about the ongoing war. Many citizens believed that the U.S. shouldn't have gone into war with Iraq in the first place.

This is significant to the United States becuase North Korea had stated that the nuclear weapons were created for defense purposes and because they felt threatened by the United States. North Korea stated that they made the weapons after President Bush was acting hostile towards them. North Korea says that the U.S. government is the reason why they have the weapons.

Thousands of people left their jobs and their schools for the day to march through their cities. This is signigicant to the United States governemnt because there are many different ideas on what the government should do about illegal immigrants. There are many illegal immigrants living and working and the government has yet decided what to do about that.

    In 2nd grade, Haley was given the honor of having one of her drawings hung up in the administration building. It was hung in the building for 4 years. This was significant for Haley because she had a love for art and drawing and it was something very important to her.

President Obama is very significant in the United States history, not only because he was president, but becasue he was the first African-American president in the United States. This was a huge step in U.S. history and it madae many, many people happy. He is also very significant because of all of the things he did for this country during his presidency, such as Obamacare.

    Pennsylvania Poster Statistics Contest
    In 2009, Haley entered the Pennsylvania Poster Statistics Contest with the help of her third grade teacher. She did her poster on which girl scout cookie the childern in her school liked the most. Although, she did not win the contest, she got honorable mention. This is significant to her because it taught her many things and she thought it was a fun and interesting experience.
  • First Track Meet

    First Track Meet
    In 2009, Haley participated in her first track meet. She participated in the relay portion of the meet and she was very nervous. This is significant because being in track taught Haley cooperation and teamwork. She also made many friends and had a lot of fun at the meets.

An oil well was not sealed correctly and this caused barrels and barrels of oil to spill into the water for 87 days. The oil spill effected many aniamls and wild life. It also effected the United States government because the government is still finding out new things about the oil spill and what went on to this day.

    Pop Miller Passes Away
    In 2011, Haley's grandfather on her mother's side passed away. Haley was incedibly close to this grandfaher and saw him once, maybe even twice a week. She learned many life lessons and other things that she will always remember from him. His passing is significant in Haley's life because her grandfather and her had an extremely close relationship.
  • Osama Bin Laden's Death

Osama Bin Laden was the founder of Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group that had crashed planes into the Twin Towers. This is a very imprtant date in U.S. history because after 10 years of searching for Bin Laden, the United States had found him. American citizens and the U.S. government did not have to worry about him any longer and many people were thankful that Bin Laden could not harm the country again.

    In 2012, Haley, along with her firends, gradauted 6th grade at Roslyn Elemnetary School. This is significant because sfter this she would be going to a new school with many new people. She would be moving on to another chapter of life in Abington Junior High School where she would meet new people and make new friends.

    September 4th was the first day of middle school for Haley and she was very nervous. She did not know her way around the school and she did not know if she had any friends in her classes. This day is significant because many of the friends Haley made this year would be her friends throughout middle school and throughout high school.
  • Boston Marathon Bombing

The bombing is known as a terrorist attack and killed 3 people. This is significant in U.S. history because it is the second major terrorist attack in the United States. This means that the governement should always be prepared in case another attack is attempted. Both of the brothers were found, and that put many Americans at ease.

    On August 16th, 2013, Haley and her family went out to find a dog. Theycame home with a 6 month old boston terrier named Winston. Winston is very important to Haley considering he is her very first dog. He also taught her many things as well as make her become more responsible.

    In 2014, Haley's grandfather on her father's side of the family passes away. Haley would see her grandfather multiple times a year when her family went up tp visit him. He is a significant part of Haley's life because she has many nice memories with him and she will always remember his sense of humor. He is also significant because they had a very close reltionship.

ISIS is a terrorist organization located in Syria. This is significant to the United States because it shows that the government is looking out and taking control of possible terrorist attacks. The government is becoming more prepared to deal with terroist attacks than it was before. This is also significant because the government is attempting to stop ISIS which is ruining the lives of many.

    Haley got her wisdom teeth out right after her 15th birthday. She got her's out along with her sister. This was a very interesting experience for Haley because she had never gone under anesthesia before this. This is a significant moment because Haley was experiencing something new and she will only experience it once.

People have been fighting for gay rights for years and years and now they are being noticed. This is a significant date in the United States because the government has legalized gay marriage. It is also significant because now the United States is one step closer to the equality that it had promised. The people who have been fighting for this for years finally have equality in the United States.
