He traded with many different people and established new connections throughout his voyage. Since he was so successful in exploration and establishing new connections, he wrote a book and was well known internationally. His book inspired many sailors to set out for conquest to discover treasures.

    Christopher Columbus first discovered the Americas when he set out in hopes that he would land in India. He was inspired by Marco Polo's adventures and decided he would set out to find riches and spices. Instead, he discovered the Native Americans and traded amongst them not only treasures but diseases as well. HIs connections to the America's made many other nations compete for new discoveries.

    As early as 1870, the continent of Africa has been colonized by many different nations. Africa was a main hub for trading goods, slaves, and different connections. Many people from Africa were taken from their land by force and were taken to new lands. Most turned into slaves, while others were tortured because of their pigment. With new establishments in Africa, many nations were able to thrive in wealth.

With originally signing only 50 countries to work together to form peaceful agreements, the United Nations have expanded to now 193 nations as part of the organization. The United Nations allowed many countries to connect together to work on improving better and peaceful conditions for the people and countries under an agreement to prevent another world war crisis.
