    The Silk Road

    The Silk Road
I believe that the Silk Road was a very important step in globalization. It began tying countries together via trade which, in turn, led to economic growth and prosperity. It formed a communication line, too, which had its benefits but also, in turn, helped create disputes and war.

    Genghis Kahn

    Genghis Kahn
Genghis Kahn created the largest, continuous empire in history. He united a large portion of Asia and China. In my opinion, he really played a role in shaping the modern world. He supported free trade and religions which, in turn, helped form the concepts of civilizations today.

    The Printing Press

    The Printing Press
I believe that the creation of the printing press is one of the most important inventions of all time. It opened so many pathways for our future. First, we could communicate news easier. We could also share thoughts and idea which would later become novels and textbooks. It also led to advancements in communication and spread across the entire world.

    Columbus

    Columbus
Christopher Columbus' expedition to the Americas was another major event in globalization. I believe this because it opened a new door into territories, expansion of civilization and, with the natives, new trades. However, on the other side of there being people already inhabiting the land, there came war. There was also war between the new civilization which would lead to the creation of America. This is all because of Christopher Columbus.
  • World Wide Web

    World Wide Web
I feel as this should go without saying, but, the invention of the world wide web was a major invention in time, too. It is basically how we communicate and share ideas these days. I don't know many people that go a day without using the internet. It has connected the world on an insane level, we can find out any information about anything we want within seconds. Even information from another country.
  • World Trade Organization

    World Trade Organization
The creation of WTO is significant to globalization because it regulates trade and ensures that everything runs smoothly and freely across the world. Without it I feel as though there would be more disputes and disagreements between countries. However, WTO prevents these types of things from happening and has a voice all across the world in total agreement.
