    Germany invaded Poland on September 1st 1939 until October 6th 1939. Germany won due to the fact that Poland did not really fight back and just let Germany walk over them. This is important because it officially started the war.

It resulted in a major Allied forces Morale boost and served as retaliation of Pearl Harbor.

It was a major naval battle between the Japanese and the United States as well as Australia, taking place in the Pacific, The battle is historically significant as the first action in which aircraft carriers engaged each other directly. Both sides claimed victory but Japan sunk more ships. this is significant because this battle prevented an attempted invasion of the Japanese naval forces.
